Only the first two federal elections—1867 and 1872—lasted longer, but those had voting spread out over the country for several months. Gear up for typical cynical bullshit from Stephen Harper‘s Conservative Party:
Canadians will make a critical decision about the direction of our country. A decision with real consequences, a decision about who has the proven experience today to keep our economy strong and our country safe.
This appeal to fear (yes, still about terrorism) and uncertainty makes me angry, because I know that Harper is a sound Machiavellian tactician, and because so many Canadians are ignorant and afraid enough for it to work, and because it has worked time and again.
It’s time, Canadians, to move on from this bullshit party pandering to our baser instincts. It’s time to have a government that will actually recognize that injustice towards our indigenous peoples is getting worse, and will actually do something about it. The best time to get rid of Harper was nine years ago, but the next best time is now.

Each to his own doesn’t really make sense in the type of representative democratic system we have, but if by that you mean that you’re not interested in arguing politics in a Facebook comment, there’s something we can completely agree on.
I am so out of it in politics I have nothing to argue about, but I believe Harper has played a fair game the years he has been in office so I’ll stick with him. Have a GREAT week????.
….& I’m going to bed. Gotta get up @ 5:00.
